Global Entrepreneurship Week: Bold Management

4,935 new companies started up in Liverpool in 2016, a 9% surge on the previous year, which equates to 14 new businesses every day. Furthermore, there was an increase of 5.45% in new business ventures across the Liverpool City Region in the same period.

To celebrate the tenth anniversary of Global Entrepreneurship Week, we are championing our entrepreneurial 100 Club Members and local companies by learning more about their motivations, what inspires them, and the challenges they have faced along the way.

Bold Management is a full service entertainment management company based in Liverpool. It successfully develops and manages careers of varied clients including TV personalities, artists, songwriters and sportspeople. Founder, Martin O’Shea set out on his entrepreneurial journey in 1991, following a Prince’s Trust loan. He began his career as a gig promoter, and after became a tour and artist manager where he co-created and managed Atomic Kitten to global success. Since then, he has delivered some of the best-selling fitness DVDs, the number one comedy show in Ireland, manages top level festivals and even designs small wind turbines. He attributes his success to always finding the good in people and never letting boredom set in. His business practices are prioritised with honesty, inspiration and innovation. From humble beginnings, Bold Management has grown into a successful talent and management company with 15 staff and 40 clients across the UK.

Martin says the biggest opportunity for up-and-coming entrepreneurs right now is to “utilise the ease with which you can reach your desired market, and the level of great mentors and business support that are available.”
