Global Entrepreneurship Week: GSTS

4,935 new companies started up in Liverpool in 2016, a 9% surge on the previous year, which equates to 14 new businesses every day. Furthermore, there was an increase of 5.45% in new business ventures across the Liverpool City Region in the same period.  The Mayoral 100 Club, founded by Mayor Joe Anderson, is an exclusive business initiative that opens doors within the city and contributes to the growth of the local economy. Throughout their membership, large companies and SMEs showcase their business to international markets, connect with key decision makers, and gain national media coverage and commercial opportunities while also achieving CSR objectives through cultural and social engagement. If you would like to discover more about joining the Mayoral 100 Club, read about how it can benefit you and your business.

To celebrate the tenth anniversary of Global Entrepreneurship Week, we are championing our entrepreneurial 100 Club Members and local companies by learning more about their motivations, what inspires them, and the challenges they have faced along the way.

He has an impressive track record of developing contracts and working alongside some of the biggest blue chip companies in the world. Essentially his first foray into entrepreneurship – Dave saw how “the industry was neglecting training and how staff were not encouraged”, and is now delivering military-standard, SIA approved training.

“I think once you step off the safe ground, you’ve got to make the plunge. But very quickly I was joined by very good people.”

Dave is passionate about seeing people develop and is using this as a motivation to ensure growth within the sector. By further developing skills and offering free training courses to veterans, the care and value GSTS have for the industry is something that will sustain them as a market leader.
